If you’re in a hurry for breakfast, this is a great option because it’s so easy to throw together. The combination of fruit,
linseeds and almonds will give you good energy through the morning. If you like, you can add 1⁄2 teaspoon psyllium husks
or 11⁄2 teaspoons oat bran for extra soluble fibre.

250 ml (1 cup) rice milk or soy milk
1 small or 1⁄2 large ripe banana,
quartered
1⁄2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1–2 tbsp linseeds, freshly ground
1–2 tbsp almond meal
1 tsp honey, rice syrup or maple syrup

Place all the ingredients in a blender jug and blend until thick and smooth.
Pour into a glass and drink immediately.

Best made just before drinking as it will thicken on standing.
